This image is expressing Freud's relationship to cocaine at the end of his usage. He loved the substance, often wrote about how much it "helped" his process and understanding of the subjects he studied. However, at the end of his relationship with coke he was extremely frustrated because of how much it seemed to cloud his judgement and work, often writing about it when it was irrelevant and feeling the need to use drug.
